Preflight check
Malformed emails and domains
Email addresses and company domains that aren’t in a valid format.
01
How Preflight finds it
Two format rules:
- Emails must look like name@domain.tld.
- Company domains must be letters, numbers and hyphens separated by dots. A full web address pasted into the domain field fails.
02
Why it costs you
This is a format check only. Whether an address bounces is a separate check.
A malformed email can’t be synced, sequenced or matched to a company. A malformed domain breaks enrichment and company matching. Counted and rated, not priced.
03
What “fixed” looks like
Domain is one of the fields you can have backfilled. Anything that can’t be repaired goes on the exception list.
04
How it stays fixed
The data dictionary records what fills each field going forward.
