Preflight check

Bounced emails and stale imports

Two kinds of dead contact. Ones whose email address has hard-bounced, and ones that arrived in a bulk import and haven’t been touched since.

01

How Preflight finds it

Two rules:

  • Bounced: on HubSpot, contacts whose email carries a hard-bounce status. Attio holds no bounce data, so on Attio this half of the check reports “not available” rather than a zero.
  • Stale imports: contacts created more than 180 days ago with no activity or engagement signal since. On both CRMs this reads creation, last-modified and activity dates only.
02

Why it costs you

Bounced addresses stay in sequences and lists, hurting your sending reputation and inflating every count. Stale imports are the bulk of what makes a CRM feel big and empty at once. Counted and rated, not priced.

03

What “fixed” looks like

Bounced contacts are marked and excluded from lists by a rule you approve. Stale imports are either enriched or moved to an archive segment you choose at kickoff. Nothing is deleted without a snapshot first.

04

How it stays fixed

The data dictionary records the rule, and the list exclusions stay in your CRM.
