Preflight check
Duplicate companies
One company, several records: “Acme”, “Acme Inc.”, and a third one created by someone’s email sync.
How Preflight finds it
Two companies match if they have the same domain (ignoring “http”, “www” and anything after the slash), or the same name once capitals, periods and commas are ignored. Two genuinely different companies with the same name will be flagged. The example record IDs in your report let you check.
Why it costs you
Deals and contacts split across the copies, so pipeline-by-account is wrong and account history is incomplete. Same price as duplicate contacts: $52 per duplicate record per year.
What “fixed” looks like
Under 2% duplicate companies. Contacts are re-linked to the surviving company by email domain, with zero unresolved matches. Genuine exceptions are listed by name.
How it stays fixed
The data dictionary names what creates company records going forward.
